The Brilliant² 4×5.65/138mm Variable Neutral Density Filter is designed to fit into most 4×5.65″ matte boxes. It only occupies one slot and provides ND values between ND 0.6 (2 Stops) and ND 2.4 (8 Stops).
Constructed using two 138mm circular polarizers, one rotating and the other fixed, the Brilliant Variable ND Filter prevents accidental polarization effects and cross polarization. Made with Schott B270 optical glass and a broadband anti-reflection coating, it reduces flare and ghost images, while contrast and color saturation are increased. It is ground and polished to be very flat and won’t cause distortions or focus shifts, even with long focal length lenses. The 138mm polarizers provide a large clear aperture, suitable for wide-angle lenses and large zoom lenses.
Density changes can be made by spinning the thumb wheels by hand or with a motor, ensuring smooth rotation. The filter’s all-aluminum main gear and internal rollers offer reliable performance, and it features standard 0.8 pitch gear teeth.
