The Vista One lenses are a modified version of the standard Vista series, featuring a single-coated front element. While retaining the key characteristics of the original lenses —such as virtually no focus breathing, low distortion, low chromatic aberration, and Full Frame coverage— the single coating reduces contrast and produces vintage-style flares that lean towards the blue/purple spectrum when a light source is in the frame.
Many single-coated or uncoated lenses lose significant resolution in the highlights, sometimes to the point of recording no sensor data in certain flare areas. However, the Vista One lenses maintain resolution and detail even in strong flares, offering versatility and greater creative freedom.
When no light is in the frame, the Vista One matches the original Vista lenses, allowing seamless mixing of both series.
