The Leitz Cine HUGO lenses are named after engineer Hugo Wehrenfennig, who helped create the iconic Leica M bayonet mount still in use today, along with many of the early M series lenses.
The Leitz HUGO lenses bring the rich colors, artful flares, and rounded image field of the Leitz M 0.8 Rangefinder series into the world of professional cinematography.
Even wide open at T1.5, the lenses deliver sharp images without feeling harsh. Their lower contrast keeps the images smooth, with natural falloff, while details pop.
The Leitz HUGO lenses are designed to be small, fast, lightweight, and as close-focusing as possible. Most of the lenses weigh around 0.85 kg, with the 18mm weighing 1.04 kg and the 75mm weighing 1.4 kg.
