The same amazing optical flavor so many filmmakers know and love about Zeiss Super Speeds and Zeiss B Speeds is inherent in the 16 version of this now legendary lens.

It is very sharp, even wide open, has medium contrast, excellent close-focus, has beautiful lens flares, and as an added bonus has virtually no focus breathing. This lens has beautiful character that will help you get the most out of the 16 format.

Our 8mm Standard has a triangular aperture, creating distinct triangle Bokeh and matching perfectly to all Zeiss High Speed S16 Lenses. The Arriflex/Zeiss Standard lenses were produced for 16mm film in 1960.

“In 1982 Canon released its last lens off the FD production line, and they did not disappoint. The 50-300 f/4.5 L was Canon’s first super zoom with a 6x ratio. They used 2 special UD low dispersion/low diffraction elements to control chromatic abberations in their 16 element/13 group design. Canon’s original 4 group optical system meant this lens was rather simple to service and therefore a good candidate for rehousing.
Genuine Canon S.S.C. coatings ensure this full frame zoom will match well with Canon K35 and FD prime lenses…making it the prefect companion to these popular lens sets. However, thanks to its character rich image, the Canon FD 50-300 will also cut together well with any vintage lens sets from the 70’s and 80’s (Leica R, Olympus OM, Nikon, etc.) The bold flares, pleasant bokeh, and gentle fall off make this zoom lens a much needed addition to any rental house.”

Beautifully rehoused by ANCIENT OPTICS the lens now features internal mechanics, 330-degree focus rotation, an improved 0.9m minimum focus distance, full-frame coverage and its new 15-blade iris ensures consistent circular bokeh.

With its strong air motor, hydrophobic double-sided coated glass, and straight waterfall wiper structure, there is no water gathering in the centre.

It works uninterrupted for up to 30 minutes, and thanks to its internal circulation switch, it prevents fog from forming inside the glass.

It has two filter stages, and you can use it with ARRI clip-on adapters or mount it on 15mm and 19mm Rods.
